What is Prophet Security?

Prophet Security is a Bay Area company founded in 2023 by Kamal Shah, previously CEO of StackRox, and Vibhav Sreekanti. It has raised about $41 million, including an $11 million seed round led by Bain Capital Ventures and a $30 million Series A led by Accel in July 2025, plus strategic investment from Amex Ventures and Citi Ventures in February 2026.

Its agentic AI SOC platform centers on an AI SOC Analyst that triages and investigates every alert, then responds on its own or with human approval. AI Threat Hunter and AI Detection Engineer agents sit alongside it, and a service called Watchtower adds 24/7 human review. On AWS Marketplace, the entry tier lists at $50,000 a year for 5,000 investigations, with larger deals quote-based.

Why teams look for Prophet Security alternatives

Prophet works on alerts produced by your existing tools and does not run its own SIEM or detection layer. Teams that want detection and investigation from a single platform, or that are trying to retire a costly SIEM, often look elsewhere for that reason.

Public proof points are still limited. Review counts on Gartner Peer Insights are small and G2 lists none, and there are few named customer stories or published integration lists. Per-investigation pricing can also climb quickly for teams with high alert volumes.

What to look for in an alternative

Start by deciding whether you need a tool that only investigates alerts or one that also generates detections. Then compare the pricing unit against a realistic month of alert volume. Ask each vendor for reference customers in your industry, and check how the platform runs, since single-tenant and multi-tenant options carry different compliance trade-offs.

Five Prophet Security alternatives compared

Each of these covers AI-led investigation, but they differ in scope and pricing.

Alternative Approach Pricing model Best fit
Exaforce Agentic SOC platform with its own detections, plus optional MDR Quote-based Teams wanting detection and investigation on one platform
Dropzone AI AI SOC analyst for Tier 1 triage and investigation Quote-based, per AI analyst with an annual investigation cap Lean teams wanting predictable triage capacity
7AI Agent swarms across cloud, email, identity, and EDR alerts Quote-based Large enterprises with high alert volume
Intezer Forensics-led AI triage with native response workflows Quote-based, priced by endpoint Teams wanting triage and response without a separate SOAR
Torq AI SOC platform built on hyperautomation Quote-based Enterprises replacing legacy SOAR

Exaforce and detection built on context

Exaforce produces its own detections as well as investigating them. Logs, identity data, configuration, and code are ingested, deduplicated, and correlated on its data platform, and events are resolved against a structured model of the environment as they arrive. A behavioral model learns what normal activity looks like for people, machines, and applications.

AI agents then triage, investigate, and respond using that shared context, so a detection and its investigation draw on the same picture of the environment. Detections tune themselves from analyst feedback, and teams can run the platform directly or through Exaforce MDR.

Choosing the right fit

If your SIEM and detections already work well and you want AI to clear the queue, an investigation-focused analyst fits. If you are rethinking detection as well, choose a platform that covers both. Price each option against a real month of alerts, not a demo dataset.
