Chase is currently offering a 70% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy, giving Ultimate Rewards members an opportunity to get significantly more Marriott points from the same Chase balance.
I recently transferred 70,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points during the promotion. The 70% bonus added another 49,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, bringing the total to:
119,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
The standard Chase-to-Marriott transfer ratio is 1:1, so without the promotion, the same transfer would have produced only 70,000 Marriott points.
The current promotion runs through October 15, 2026, temporarily increasing the effective transfer ratio to 1:1.7.
But getting 70% more points doesn’t automatically make a transfer worthwhile. The real opportunity comes from combining a transfer bonus with a good Marriott redemption, particularly Marriott’s Stay for 5, Pay for 4 benefit.
How the Chase to Marriott Transfer Bonus Works
Under the standard transfer rate, Chase Ultimate Rewards points convert to Marriott Bonvoy points at a 1:1 ratio.
That means:
| Chase Ultimate Rewards points | Standard Marriott transfer | With 70% bonus |
| 10,000 | 10,000 | 17,000 |
| 50,000 | 50,000 | 85,000 |
| 70,000 | 70,000 | 119,000 |
| 100,000 | 100,000 | 170,000 |

In my case, transferring 70,000 Chase points generated an additional 49,000 Marriott points.
The 70% rate is promotional rather than permanent. Once the offer ends, Chase-to-Marriott transfers are expected to return to the standard rate unless another promotion is introduced.
That makes timing important, but it doesn’t mean you should transfer points simply because a bonus is available.
How to Transfer Chase Points to Marriott
Eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards cardholders can transfer points to Marriott Bonvoy through their Ultimate Rewards account.
The process is straightforward:
- Sign in to Chase Ultimate Rewards.
- Open the transfer-points section.
- Select Marriott Bonvoy from the available travel partners.
- Link or confirm your Marriott Bonvoy account.
- Enter the number of Chase points you want to transfer.
- Review the details carefully before confirming.
Your Chase and Marriott account information should match.
It’s also worth checking the Marriott award you want before making the transfer. Once you’ve moved your flexible Chase points into Marriott Bonvoy, you shouldn’t assume you can simply move them back to Chase.
How Marriott’s 5th Night Free Works
The transfer bonus isn’t the only way to stretch Marriott points.
Marriott offers a benefit commonly called “5th Night Free.” Its official name is Stay for 5, Pay for 4.
When you book an eligible five-consecutive-night award stay using Marriott Bonvoy points, you redeem points for only four nights. Marriott deducts the lowest points-priced night of the five.
For example:
| Night | Points required |
| Night 1 | 25,000 |
| Night 2 | 27,000 |
| Night 3 | 24,000 |
| Night 4 | 26,000 |
| Night 5 | 28,000 |
| Normal total | 130,000 |
| Stay for 5, Pay for 4 | 106,000 |
In this example, Marriott removes the 24,000-point night.
That means the 119,000 Marriott points from my 70,000-point Chase transfer would be enough to cover this hypothetical five-night redemption, with points remaining.
Actual Marriott award prices vary by hotel and date, so this is an illustration rather than a guarantee of what 119,000 points will buy.
Marriott’s 5th Night Free Requirements
There are some important restrictions.
To receive the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 offer, you need to book five consecutive nights at the same participating hotel under one eligible points reservation. Marriott applies the benefit to Standard Redemption Awards and PointSavers Awards.
It does not apply in the same way if you:
- pay in cash for the stay
- use Cash + Points
- use Free Night Award certificates
- split the five nights into separate reservations
For an eligible 10-night award stay, Marriott applies the benefit twice by deducting the two lowest points-priced nights across the stay.
Do You Need Marriott Gold Elite for the 5th Night Free?
No.
This is an important distinction because Stay for 5, Pay for 4 is not a Gold Elite benefit.
The benefit is available on qualifying points redemptions for Marriott Bonvoy members. Having Gold Elite status does not give you an additional free night on top of it.

Gold Elite has separate benefits, including bonus points on eligible hotel spending and potential room upgrades and late checkout, subject to availability. But it doesn’t turn a five-night award booking into “five nights plus two free.”
Is It Worth Transferring Chase Points to Marriott?
Sometimes, but the size of the transfer bonus shouldn’t be the only factor.
A 70% bonus means 100,000 Chase points become 170,000 Marriott points, which is considerably better than the standard 100,000-to-100,000 transfer.
However, Marriott uses flexible award pricing, so the number of points required for a hotel depends on the property and dates.
Before transferring, work backwards from the stay:
Find the hotel → check its Marriott points price → calculate Stay for 5, Pay for 4 if applicable → compare the award with the cash rate → calculate how many Chase points you need after the transfer bonus.
For example, if the Marriott redemption you actually want costs 119,000 points, the current 70% promotion means you would need to transfer only 70,000 Chase points.
If you don’t have a specific Marriott redemption in mind, moving Chase points speculatively just because there’s a transfer bonus may not be the best use of flexible rewards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you transfer Chase points to Marriott?
Yes. Marriott Bonvoy is a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner. The standard transfer ratio is 1:1, meaning 1,000 eligible Chase points convert to 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
What is the current Chase to Marriott transfer bonus?
As of September 30, 2026, Chase is offering a 70% Marriott Bonvoy transfer bonus through October 15, 2026. During the promotion, 10,000 Chase points become 17,000 Marriott points.
How many Marriott points do you get from 70,000 Chase points?
Normally, 70,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to 70,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
With the current 70% transfer bonus:
70,000 + 49,000 bonus = 119,000 Marriott points.
Is it worth transferring Chase points to Marriott?
It depends on the specific redemption. A transfer bonus can improve the value substantially, particularly when combined with an eligible Stay for 5, Pay for 4 redemption.
However, compare the Marriott points price, cash price, and alternative uses of your Chase points before transferring.
Does Marriott still give you the 5th night free?
Yes, although Marriott officially calls the benefit Stay for 5, Pay for 4.
On an eligible five-night points redemption, Marriott deducts the lowest points-priced night. It isn’t necessarily calendar night number five.
Can you use Marriott Free Night Awards with 5th Night Free?
No. Free Night Awards don’t qualify for Marriott’s Stay for 5, Pay for 4 benefit.
Bottom Line
The current Chase-to-Marriott transfer bonus turned my 70,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points into 119,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, an additional 49,000 Marriott points compared with the standard transfer rate.
The more interesting strategy is combining a strong transfer bonus with a well-priced Marriott redemption, such as Stay for 5, Pay for 4.
But check the hotel first and transfer second.
A 70% bonus can make a specific Marriott redemption much more attractive, but it doesn’t automatically mean Marriott is the best use of every Chase Ultimate Rewards point.
