Remote Working at The Singer Oceanfront Resort by Hilton – West Palm Beach

This beautiful art deco hotel has been recently renovated throughout in a beautiful modern, beach vibe feel with a revamped 2024 feel to its art deco origins. The beautiful use of wood and tiles makes it feel cool, and modern and leaves you in no doubt that you’re here to relax at the beach.

The Hotel and Resort are located on Singer Island (of the Singer Sewing Company fame from NYC) which was cut away from Palm Beach Island to make an inlet.

Remote Work Setup

The WiFi is pretty good but that’s on the Hilton Honors network. It does have some issues reconnecting but it’s been good for both my Dell XPS and iPhone 15. I’ve had 4 Google Meet and Zoom meetings with video calls with no issues and screen sharing

The bedrooms are very comfortable, the TV works great, the wifi is fantastic for work. There aren’t any office/work spaces but I was able to do a call from the lobby with my laptop and headset. This is clearly a vacation resort but I did have to work one of the days and it did just fine

I love the way they restore the good concert rooms by softening the ceiling and creating a lovely battened backdrop for the tv with Billie in lights, power sockets, and USB charging points

There are also lots of power charging points for the restaurant sidebar beside the new, soon-to-open restaurant (see my video)

Part of my essential kit is my noise-canceling USB-C headphones. I prefer over-ear headphones to in-ear and these help silence the

Hotel Amenities and Facilities

At the time of writing the pool and gym were still under work but the market was open daily from 7 am to 2 pm during the day and 8 pm in the evening. The maker is pretty extensive – carrying a lot more than your standard hotel convenience micro-mart with wines, crisps/chips, snacks, 1st aid essentials, and even single Rosalind coconuts and Jameson whiskey

The beach bar was also open with its views of the ocean, formable sweating, and chairs beside – open until 10 pm

The main restaurant wasn’t yet open but with he training and kit out, that looks pretty imminent but the pool won’t be open until December. But the beach is the main attraction with its crystal clear water and warm calming ties. They do have table service and you can get a lift around the enchanted from the chair an umbrella managers (separate to the hotel – $5 charge for soft cushions for the day or period you’re at the beach, well worth it).

A great hotel with great staff

Getting around

Uber is great to get you back to West Palm Beach where you can get the Circuit app to get you around the Palms

Eat & Drinks & Nearby

There is the 24hr 711 for snacks, drinks (wine, beer, seltzers, ice), soft drinks, USB cables, swim gear and a number of bars and very cheap restaurants at the bottom of the island near the bridge.

There’s the sailfish marina and tiki bar with outdoor air con.

And Frigates restaurant in North Palm.
