Ronan Walsh is a solopreneur, SEO consultant, and co-founder of Money Asset Lifestyle. He is the owner of Digital Trawler, a SaaS marketing consultancy based at Innovation Works on the Plassey campus in Castletroy, Limerick, Ireland.
What Ronan does at Digital Trawler
Digital Trawler works across search engine optimisation, Google Ads, analytics, and website design. Its clients sit in four brackets: software and SaaS companies, B2B consultancies, e-commerce brands, and NGOs and not-for-profits.
The agency’s stated purpose is narrow on purpose, helping clients generate leads and engagement online. Not impressions, not rankings for their own sake. That focus is what shapes most of what Ronan writes here: a solopreneur’s marketing budget has to convert, because there is no brand team absorbing the waste.
He was named among Ireland’s leading SEO voices in Primary Position’s Top 30 SEO Influencers list, and is followed by more than 4,400 people on LinkedIn, where he publishes on search, paid media, and the practical mechanics of running an agency.
Teaching the next generation of marketers
Alongside running Digital Trawler, Ronan lectures on the MSc in Digital Marketing at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). It is not a nominal appointment. He has brought student cohorts into Google’s offices three times and into Meta’s HQ, where his students were recognised for achieving Facebook Blue Certification, and he helped organise TUS’s “Unlock Your Digital Marketing Potential” event, bringing in a Google keynote and a panel of programme alumni.
Several of the students he worked closely with have gone on to take gold, silver and bronze at the Digital Media Awards.
Teaching a subject that changes every quarter forces a particular discipline: you cannot lecture on a tactic you do not understand mechanically. That shows up in his writing, which tends to explain why something works before telling you to do it.
